Birdwatching Tours on Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Halmahera

Birding Period: August 6th - 24th, 2011

At a glance Birding Tours: Barnet Alan  Schlinger and his wife Lorie Ann Humphrey from Los Angeles have done the birding Tours for Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Ternate and Halmahera.  The Birding Tours was organised by VIT Tours, head office in Palu. They arrived on August 5th,  then overnight at Sheraton Bandara Jakarta. The next day on July 6th together Ali Munthaha, a VIT Tours leader for Kalimantan Parts, they flight to Pankalanbun in Central Kalimantan then directly to drive to Tanjung Putting National Park. This is the beginning of the Birding Tours then they fly to Banjarmasin, then Balikpapan for birding in Kutai National Park. On August 12th, 2011 Mr Barney and his wife met by Darwin Sumang a director of VIT Tours and also a Tour Leader for Sulawesi and Halmahera Birding Tours. They drive to Lore Lindu National Park at that day for a birding tours.On 16th Aug Darwin, Mr Barney and his wife Lorie flew to Makassar and Manado for the Tangkoko Birding Tours. On Aug 19th they flew to Ternate then directly to Sidangoli by boat. The next day visited the lek of Wallacean Standardwing in Sidangoli and saw the Satandardwing very well. From here then visited Tobelo and then to Galela  for a Molucan Scrubfowl by paddling boat in Dark time through the mangrove forest surrounding site. They saw the Molucan Scrubfowl well and On Aug 23rd, flew back to Manado then overnight at Onong Palace Resort at Tomohon. On Aug 24th, they flew to Jakarta for a flying home.
